(April 18, 2008) Dr. Ross Conner to give the opening keynote address at the 2008 Conference.

Dr. Ross Conner is Professor Emeritus at University of California, Irvine, and Senior Advisor and Past President of the International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation.

In his opening keynote address to the CES 2008 Conference, Dr. Conner will share lessons and insights about the functions of evaluation from his work with diverse evaluation organizations and groups around the world. He will draw mainly from experiences during his years as president of the International Organisation for Cooperation in Evaluation (IOCE) in 2006 and 2007. As he discovered, others working in evaluation around the world have heritages to share with us, some new, some old, and some forgotten but still powerful. Be ready to travel to distant places with him, including Russia, Niger, Sri Lanka and Israel, in order to see and think differently about evaluation.

(October 26, 2007) On behalf of this year's Conference Organizing Committee, it is with great pleasure that we invite the entire Canadian and worldwide evaluation communities to come and join us in beautiful and historic Quebec City for the CES 2008 Annual Conference.

Quebec City, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its historic sites — one of which is the famous Château Frontenac where the 2008 conference will be held. 2008 also brings celebrations; it is Quebec's 400th anniversary! Come, join us and take a stroll down the narrow, history-filled streets of old Québec!

This is a wonderful context in which to express our collective pride in what we have accomplished, to reflect upon what we have become and to chart new directions for the profession. It's a great opportunity for the evaluation community to come together, to strengthen our mutual ties and to share our heritages.

We look forward to meeting, sharing and celebrating our 400th anniversary with all of you in beautiful Quebec City!

Please visit us often and contact the secretariat if you have any questions. We would love to hear from you.
